About the Artist
Jane Connelley began drawing the first time she picked up a crayon. She never wondered what she'd be when she grew up... she only wondered how she'd earn a living. Working primarily in pastel and watercolor, Jane shares responsibility for the finished work with the unique characteristics of each medium. After careful planning and conceptual design, she goes to work with an open mind and a flexible attitude. Sometimes certain colors or forms "don't want to be next to the others" and so she lets them move... her finished work leans toward realism with an occasional unrealistic departure. When she isn't painting, Jane enjoys speaking to schools and organizations on the myth of the starving artist and the wonders of paint. Contact the Outreach program of the California Watercolor Association for more information.
"Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy..." 1Timothy 4:14
Jane currently lives and works in the Heart of the California Delta with her youngest daughter and the man of her dreams.
